General

You will need you driver’s license and the vehicle registration paperwork for the vehicle you registered with. Information on these two documents will help you answer personal questions throughout the course.

The court that you received your citation from must give you permission to take Defensive Driving to remove the citation. Please contact the court prior to signing up. You are only allowed to take Defensive Driving once ever twelve (12) months to remove a citation. Exceptions are granted by the courts, so make sure you ask.

The course length is 6 hours.

The course must be completed within 180 days of registration.

Quiz questions are pulled randomly from a pool of questions derived from the videos you watch.

The final exam is twenty (20) questions long. You will need to make a 70 percent or greater to pass the course and receive your certificate.

You are allowed to take the final three (3) times before you are required to retake the class from the beginning. Don’t worry, if you pay attention to the class, you will do fine.


Troubleshooting

Our website was constructed with top of the line security. It is our goal to protect everyone that uses or visits our website. We process payments securely through Authorize.net. All credit card information is deleted immediately after successful transaction. This is an added security feature designed to protect our customers.

This type of problem is usually caused by your Internet Provider. You may want to disconnect your internet connection and log back in. If you continue to experience problems, we recommend disconnecting and returning at a later time to complete the course when internet use is not as heavy. If you are still having problems, you may call customer support at 1-866-777-9366.

You do not need any special software to use our course. All you need is an internet connection and a flash video player which you can download on the support page.

No, we do that for you. Your work is automatically saved as you complete a page of instruction. If you log off or your computer disconnects, when you log back in, you will be directed to the last complete page.

Certificate Delevery

We offer six (6) different delivery options

  1. Standard USPS first class mail…..Included in price (free)
  2. Overnight AM Delivery (by noon)* – $25.00
  3. Overnight PM Delivery (by 7 pm)* – $20.00
  4. Two-Day Delivery (two business days by 7 pm)* – $15.00
  5. Three-Day Delivery (three business days by 7 pm)* – $10.00
  6. Saturday Delivery* – $35.00

All courses must be completed by 3:00 pm (CST) on business days. For courses completed after 3:00 pm (CST) on Friday, on weekends or holidays, time is calculated from the next business day.

All certificates are processed daily if completed by 3 pm. All certificated completed after 3 pm will be processed the next business day. USPS delivery of standard first class mail can take up to 5 days. Please contact us if you have not received your certificate within seven (7) days of completion. The State of Texas allows course providers up to 21 days to deliver, but we think that is just too long.

Please contact your court for this information to avoid taking this course and not receiving credit from the court.

By law, all certificates are delivered to you. The certificate is sent to the address that you registered with. Please contact us if your address needs to be changed.

If you have lost your certificate or it contains incorrect information, you may contact a customer support representative at 1-866-777-9366 to request a certificate reprint. By law, all reprints will cost $10.


Payment Information

You may make your payment online by using a credit or bank debit card, a personal check, or e check through our secure server. Policies and Procedures

You must complete all phases of the approved curriculum in order to receive a certificate of completion. The school is prohibited from issuing a certificate of completion if the student has not met all the requirements for course completion and a student shall not accept a certificate under such circumstances.

STUDENT may cancel the COURSE within 72 hours from time of registration for a full refund, provided that STUDENT has NOT failed or completed any portion of the COURSE. If STUDENT cancels the COURSE after 72 hours, a twenty dollar ($20.00) cancellation fee will be deducted from the refund. To cancel the COURSE, the STUDENT must request a refund by contacting customer service. Upon cancellation, the refund will be processed within fifteen (15) days. NO refund will be given to any STUDENT requesting a refund more than 168 hours from time of registration or who have completed or failed any portion of the course.

STUDENTS are responsible for completing the course material and passing the final exam. The COURSE will have questions relating to the material that are spread through the COURSE. The final exam will consist of 20 questions and a minimum passing grade of 70 percent will be required in order to receive a certificate of course completion. STUDENTS will receive a total of three attempts to secure the minimum passing grade requirement. In the event of three failed attempts, STUDENTS will be prevented from completing the COURSE. Therefore, a review of the course material is recommended prior to taking the final exam. STUDENTS will also be asked 20 personal validation questions based on driver’s license and license plate information they entered during the registration process. If a STUDENT misses a total of 7 personal validation questions, then STUDENT will be prevented from completing the COURSE.

The STUDENT agrees that HE/SHE, and not any other person, will study the material in its entirety and complete the course questions and the final exam. It is ILLEGAL to attempt to circumvent this online state-approved course or provide false information. If the COURSE PROVIDER discovers that the STUDENT has willfully misrepresented himself or has cheated, the STUDENT will be stopped from taking the course with no refund of the registration fees. In addition, the STUDENT may be prosecuted for perjury and other criminal acts which are punishable by law.


Driving Record

Yes, all you have to do is go to the support page and down load the driving record application. Then follow the directions.

A driving record will cost $25.

We have a new process to allows us to deliver your DPS driving record along with your certificate. However, if you have moved recently, it can take up to 20 days to have it delivered through DPS. Contact our office for availability.

With our new system , the driving record can be shipped to you with your certificate (restrictions apply). The address you put on the application is the address it will be shipped to. The court will not except a driving record sent to them.


Insurance Discounts

Sign up and complete the defensive driving course.

Yes, you are allowed to take the course every 12 months to remove a citation. Take the course for educational or insurance discount purposes does not count against you.

Upon completion of the course, a certificate will be mailed directly to you. Take this certificate and mail it to your insurance provider. It may take 3-4 weeks for the insurance company to process it.
